20×30, 40×60 or 70×100 cm? Choosing Your Casopra Canvas Size

Above a sofa, a bed, a sideboard or a desk, the classic guideline is that the art should be about two-thirds as wide as the furniture below it.¹ Measure the furniture, multiply by two-thirds, and you have your target width.

Hang the bottom of the canvas 7 to 10 inches (18 to 25 cm) above the furniture, so the two read as one group.²

Hung horizontally, the large format is 100 cm wide: two-thirds of a 150 cm piece of furniture. It is the natural choice above a standard sofa, a queen-size bed or a long sideboard, and on any open wall you want to own.

Hung vertically, it suits tall, narrow walls: between two windows, at the end of a corridor, in a stairwell.

The middle size fits almost anywhere: above a small desk, a console or a bedside table, in a hallway, a kitchen or a bathroom wall away from the shower (see canvas art in the bathroom).

The small size is for close looking: a shelf, a windowsill, a narrow strip of wall beside a door, a reading nook. It also mixes well in a gallery wall with larger pieces, as long as the gaps stay consistent, about 2 to 3 inches (5 to 8 cm).³
